I worked with a team from several municipals in Stockholm to create a web- and videobased tool for social workers at Socialtjänsten working with children. The project led by Josefin was started to help and guide social workers to help the children better when Barnkonventionen became law in Sweden. To make the children a part of their own case and to help make their voices heard. Children have the right to speak and be listened to, and needs to be able to influence their own lives. This is a step in that direction. When Barnkonventionen became a part of the Swedish law, many instances worked towards making sure they would follow the directions. Making sure children have their rights to participate. One of the goals in this project was to make this transition a bit easier.
To help answer some of the biggest questions in working with children as a social worker we wanted to produce a collections of video questions and answers. We assembled a panel of experts that answered the questions we got from active social workers. We visited a number of offices around Stockholm to collect and film their questions. And used this to cut together many Q&A's for the website. Making everything free and accessible to everyone.
My part in this project was to ideate the design concept and web design for the method material displayed at pratamedbarn.nu. We wanted the concept to be colourful, inviting, playful and informative. Making the difficult questions less hard to face and answer. I made a hand-sketched logo, illustrated patterns with speech bubbles and shapes, using clear and contrasting colors and typography. I did also all of the filming, cutting and editing of the guidance material that was published to the site. Shot in 4K with a Huawei 10 Pro, sound recording using Røde VideoMicro.
This became a big collaboration with Josefin Bernhardsson - Research Manager, Kamilla Nylund - Head of Development, Marie Agnesjö - Child & Youth Psychotherapeut, Caroline Clemente - Social Worker, Therese Bergsell - Head of Development and Lotta Molander - Kvinnojouren Huddinge. Together with Huddinge Kommun, Nacka Kommun, FoU Södertörn, FoU Nordost and FoU Nordväst. The project is even today going strong after risk of being shut down, people in social working have been hard at work to keep it up and running. Today in a new identity, but still going strong!
